How to order Vykon HVAC

There are several helpful aids to help you design and purchase the Vykon HVAC application. There are three components to a Vykon HVAC system (1) I/O modules for direct connection of sensors and actuators, (2) Vykon HVAC JACEs which contain the control strategy & plant graphics, and (3) a Vykon HVAC Supervisor which enables an overview of the building and the inclusion of additional graphics such as floor plans etc. On small sites with only a single JACE then it too can be customised to includes building specific floor plans and the like, so the Supervisor is not essential.

Most project specifications detail the number of monitoring and control points required. Entering the total number of digital and analog points required for each plant room into the Vykon HVAC I/O module calculator web page provides you with a list of the IOM modules required to fulfil the project. The algorithm used for this calculation optimises the points usage so you can be confident this uses the fewest modules.

Once you know the number of IOM modules you select the appropriate JACE from the Vykon HVAC price list (available to partners on request) as these are priced according to how many modules they are licensed for (3, 6, 10, 20 or unlimited).

If the project has several plant room locations and therefore requires several JACEs then a Vykon HVAC Supervisor can be used to provide a centralised way to manage schedules, handle alarms and view the site schematics. This is simply ordered according to how many JACEs there are on the project.

In addition to the web based calculator the Niagara Quoting Tool (an Excel spreadsheet) provides an alternative approach. Since this has been created using Excel you can modify it to fit with your existing quoting tools or incorporate it into them. This tool also handles other Niagara products so is useful for pricing "mixed" systems which have both Vykon HVAC JACEs and standard JACEs.
