NiagaraAX drivers

Tridium support a range of software drivers to enable integration with various network protocols and third party systems. The open drivers are included as standard in every JACE (sold in EMEA), while additional proprietary drivers can be purchased from Tridium. In addition, a wider range of drivers for proprietary systems can be purchased from various Niagara developer partners who have created these drivers for sale to the Niagara community. Many of our partners have used such drivers as they enable NiagaraAX to manage existing BMS and other systems, but Tridium has no control over these drivers and does not provide support for them. We do fully support the drivers published on the EMEA Price List.

Q. Can NiagaraAX be integrated with intruder detection systems?

A. Yes. Tridium sells a driver for the Honeywell Galaxy (now Dimension) system which is widely used throughout Europe in commercial buildings. A Tridium datasheet is available which details the functionality offered. The Galaxy system uses the SIA standard protocol so we can implement drivers for other intruder panels using this protocol on request.

Q. Can NiagaraAX be integrated with fire detection systems?

A. Yes. Tridium sells a driver for the Protec fire alarm system, and several fire panel manufacturers offer open protocol interface options, that allow the Honeywell XLS50/60 (Morley) panels to be integrated using Modbus. The Honeywell Notifier (US) can be integrated using BacNet, and Simplex can be integrated using LONworks. Our Italian partner Quicklink Solutions sell a driver for the Honeywell Notifier AS2000, 4000 and 6000 systems, and Tridium is currently developing a driver for the Honeywell Notifier AS3000 system (used widely in the UK). Apollo, who manufacture smoke detectors for many systems have launched a product called "Apollo Open Connect" which uses a JACE to provide an open standard protocol interface to systems that use their detectors. Various panel manufacturers will be offering this, including Kentec.

Q. Can NiagaraAX be used to manage other BMS manufacturers' systems?

A. Yes. Tridium sells software drivers to enable NiagaraAX to integrate with Andover, American Automatrix systems. Cylon Controls offers a niagaraAX driver which enables NiagaraAX to manage Cylon systems, and various partners in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific offer drivers which enable integration with many types of BMS.
