Since the advent of DDC systems in the 1980s the building controls industry has become accustomed to freely programmable controllers which can be made to do more or less any control strategy. The downside to this flexibility has been a huge cost associated with designing and engineering each project uniquely, even though the vast majority of HVAC controls systems are fundamentally performing the same task - heating and/or cooling the building. Many have dreamed of simplifying this engineering process and various suppliers have attempted to provide such as simplified solution over the years. Such initiatives have faltered because invariably too much flexibility was sacrificed to achieve the simplicity due to the limitations of the underlying technology. Now however, the power of the NiagaraAX Framework has been harnessed to deliver a radically new application called Vykon HVAC which dramatically simplifies the process of creating heating, ventilating and air-conditioning control applications.

Vykon HVAC runs in a standard Tridium JACE controller and utilises cost-effective I/O modules for direct wired connection to sensors and actuators. Wireless devices can also be incorporated.
The great advantage of Vykon HVAC compared with other attempts at automated engineering is that any part of the project which is not covered by its applications suite can be manually engineered using mini-applications which are the component parts or building blocks of Vykon HVAC. This gives partners the best of both worlds; high quality standardised applications which are very fast to engineer for the majority of the project with the flexibility and power of Niagara for the non-standard minority.
At last an automated engineering solution which does not sacrifice flexibility for simplicity.

Vykon HVAC offers the simplicity of standard applications yet retains the flexibility of custom solutions. This ensures it is the system of choice for a wide range of locations.
